Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP)
We invite dynamic individuals to join our team of highly motivated, professional staff delivering excellent services for patients at Tees Screening Centre, North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust. Full‑time and part‑time posts are available.
Responsibilities
* Provide the highest standard of care and support for patients participating in the national Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
* Assess patients’ fitness for colonoscopy and inform and support individuals throughout the screening pathway.
* Provide nurse‑led clinics for individuals who have tested positive for Faecal Occult Blood as part of the Programme.
* Attend colonoscopy lists, process histology outcomes and deliver results, including cancer diagnosis.
* Handle substantial data entry and management, ensuring accurate collection of data and management of the patient pathway.
Qualifications and Experience
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook – training on the dedicated screening IT system (BCSS) will be provided.
* Dynamic, proactive and capable of working autonomously with responsibility.
Working Locations
* Based at North Tees Hospital, with expectation to work across four additional screening sites: Redcar, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Northallerton, and other venues as appropriate.
* May be required to work at any site across University Hospitals Tees (combining former South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust).
