The Role
We are seeking a Project Director with a Mechanical bias to lead the delivery of a large-scale Shell & Core project with multiple floors of fit-out in Central London. This is a pivotal leadership role with full accountability for operational, commercial, and client outcomes, reporting directly to the UK Regional Director.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of a major M&E project, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability.
* Manage all stakeholders including clients, consultants, and main contractors, building strong relationships to secure repeat business.
* Oversee design development, procurement strategy, and project planning from pre-construction to commissioning.
* Implement and maintain robust risk management and change control processes.
* Ensure accurate cost control, financial reporting, and adherence to KPI-driven project targets.
* Drive performance and engagement across your project team, providing leadership, mentoring, and development.
* Uphold Designer Group standards across health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance.
* Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
* Extensive experience in a senior leadership role delivering large-scale M&E projects (preferably Shell & Core).
* Strong mechanical bias, with deep understanding of building services engineering.
* Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
* Commercial acumen with experience in budget control, procurement, and contract management.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Degree or HNC equivalent).
