LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in North-East England for an Investigations Officer on a temporary basis. The contract will be for 6 months in the first instance.
You will be responsible for leading criminal/civil investigations into fraudulent and malicious trade practices. Duties will include carrying out investigations, gathering evidence, compiling case reports, making recommendations and giving advice based on Trading Standards legislation, giving evidence in criminal and civil courts as necessary, and acting as an officer of the courts in the execution of warrants.
Previous experience of criminal and civil investigative practice is essential; knowledge of Trading Standards law and a background in financial investigations is desirable.

* Able to attend the office in Middlesbrough on a hybrid-working basis
The salary for this role starts at £18.26 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay.
