We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor (Electrical) to work as part of our on-site team in Beeston, Nottingham. This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week working a rota system covering two weekends out of the ten-week rota. The salary is up to £40,753 per annum plus overtime. The electrical biased Maintenance Supervisor will lead and supervise the maintenance team across Nottingham, providing a planned and responsive maintenance service in line with agreed Service level Agreements (SLA’s), effectively managing the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule (PPM) and Annual refurbishment program. This highly technical role requires you to be a fully qualified electrician with one of the following qualifications City & Guilds 236 / 2360 / 2365 / 2000 / 2330 / 2397 or equivalent EAL electrical qualification to Year 2 / Level 3 City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Role responsibilities include: Implement and maintain robust processes to deal effectively and efficiently with all university requests for reactive maintenance services Prepare and deliver the annual PPM programme of works through directly employed and subcontracted staff, in a timely manner and within budget Ensure timely delivery of a high-standard maintenance service in line with the contract Lead on the delivery of statutory compliance testing, including gas, electrical, fire systems, water hygiene and LOLER checks Directly supervise a team of Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Assistants, fostering a collaborative and high performing culture Manage the activities, training and welfare of the maintenance team and sub-contractors including validation and submission of leave requests and timesheets to ensure service is effectively planned, achieved and continuously improved Support contractor selection, pricing and performance evaluation ensuring all contractor activities meet health, safety and compliance expectations Assist with annual budget reviews and oversee stock and supplies management, including ordering, inventory control and issue tracking Escalate any Health and Safety issues ensuring any follow up actions are completed Undertake work within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and all relevant records are kept up to date In addition to the qualifications mentioned, we are looking for you to have experience in maintenance or building management and in managing a technical team in an operational environment. You will also be a great communicator with strong organisation skills, the ability to lead by example, remain calm under pressure and a passion to do a great job. You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. Experience of managing a computerised facilities management system would also be beneficial. Will need to have good organisational skills to prioritise work programmes. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
