Job responsibilities To join and document ward meetings, morning meetings, ward reviews and at times chair/lead these as well. Perform clinical assessments of individuals with mental health problems admitted to the ward. Develop knowledge of mental health, including formulation of care plans and provide support to more junior team members. To perform physical health checks (bloods, ECGs and physical examinations) and liaise with general hospital/GP colleagues to maintain patient physical health. Develop psychiatric interview and risk assessment skills. To complete medical recommendations for detention under the Mental Health Act. To prepare reports and present evidence at Tribunal hearings with appropriate supervision where necessary. To be flexible and accessible in providing appropriate care to the patients. To work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. To comply with the trust values, policies, and procedures. To participate in quality improvement work (e.g. audit, service development, etc.).
