Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist.
* Full Time Permanent Contract
* 34.5 hours per week – 7am-7pm
* 4 week rotation Sun-Mon-Tues/Wed-Thu-Fri
* Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP
* Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.
* This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply.
Machining of aircraft components from generated engineering models to prescribed customer specification, using aluminium or titanium metal as required, utilising 3, 4 and 5 axis machine tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A CNC Machinist will be responsible for the operation of machining cells which could include working on aluminum and/or titanium metal parts on 2, 4 and 5 Axis machines.
* Setting and operating the machine tools.
* To be able to operate multiple machines at all times during shift when safe to do so.
* To communicate efficiently and effectively with the supervisor, manager and colleagues.
* To carry out component change overs for own machines and colleagues if required.
* Carry out de-burring of components, including removal of sharp edges and cleaning of holes.
* Route work as necessary to next operation as per work instructions or team leader direction.
* Ability to resolve machining problems with minimum supervision.
* Escalation of unresolved problems to Shift Leader, Team Leader or Manager as required.
* Provide accurate handover information to next shift on current status and any issues arisen.
* Ensure all job card documentation is filled in correctly before moving onto next operation.
* To work in line with all company requirements including following work-to list and set up sheets.
