We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our expanding team, delivering innovative solutions across a wide range of sectors. You’ll play a key role on power and energy projects, including substations, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy facilities – as well as exciting projects in other industries such as industrial, defence, and transportation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Designing and specifying structural elements for diverse projects, with a strong focus on power and energy infrastructure.
* Producing deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
* Reviewing calculations, technical drawings, and supplier submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
* Supporting the development of early-career engineers and contributing to technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience delivering projects in at least one sector BakerHicks operates in – power sector experience desirable.
* Progressing towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE.
* Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., MasterSeries, STAAD, Tedds).
* Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM regulations.
* Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
* Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
* UK-based project experience in structural engineering either through employment, internship, or graduate placement.
