Can you be the difference to adult lives in Bury? As a Wellbeing Practitioner/Support Worker based at Killelea House your vocation will be to work with vulnerable people and help them build confidence, support health and wellbeing so they reach potential and are able to live full and independent lives.

Choices for Living Well Service at Killelea House- Intermediate Care Services

We are a community run, interim service that supports people, many with complex needs due to illness or injury, to regain their skills and confidence so they can return home after a period of therapy and support. We offer a safe space in a lovely, newly renovated residential house and extend our services out to those who have returned to their own homes.

You will assist and support customers, including those with complex needs and behaviours with active daily living skills such as personal care, and skills that will focus on them remaining independent in their own homes.

You need to be a team player who supports, assists and promotes the reablement of customers with identified needs.

The job will be varied and will include practical tasks such as tidying and cleaning up after incidents and to maintain the health and safety of you and those around you, this will also include completing risk assessments for customers and ensuring these are continuously monitored and reviewed.

We want you to create a safe and stimulating physical environment for customers, creating opportunities and choice for customer to be as independent as possible

It’s a challenging job at times so you need enthusiasm, commitment, focus and a strong teamwork ethic. We need you to

* Communicate well, have fluent English
* Love working with people and can demonstrate empathy and kindness
* Experience working as part of a team, show flexibility in supporting colleagues.
* Have an interest in Health and Wellbeing
* Be energetic and up for a challenge
* Fully respect and have pride in offering such a valuable service
* Minimum 12 months experience
* Enhanced DBS

Progression

Working with a multidisciplinary team will mean you working alongside occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses as well as many other professions therefore providing you with the exposure to a wide range of roles across the Bury Health and Care sector. Work hours, pay and benefits.

* Shifts are as follows on a 2 week rota.
* Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
* Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
* 9.30pm - 07.30am
* £11.39 per hour

Interview process

There will be an application form, pre-screen and recruitment days where you will be offered an interview time slot, followed by compliance checking. During the application process we will notify you further of the process and people involved and the training opportunities. On offer of employment you will need to pass a DBS check.
