Our client is a five AA Red Star award-winning hotel, located in the heart of London's countryside in beautiful Berkshire, just 40 minutes from London and 25 minutes from Heathrow.
We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Head Pastry Chef to join their senior culinary team. This integral role involves working closely with the Executive Head Chef to create exceptional desserts and pastries, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
We are looking for an individual with strong pastry expertise, creative flair, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
* Take full responsibility for the pastry section, ensuring smooth operations daily
* Prepare and deliver a diverse range of pastry dishes to impeccable standards of preparation, production, and presentation
* Exceed guest expectations through consistent service and product delivery
* Achieve required food service standards while meeting profitability targets
* Provide leadership and support to junior pastry team members, ensuring consistent service and product quality
* Adhere strictly to all statutory regulations, including health and safety protocols
* Maintain proper food storage, stock rotation, and temperature records
* Uphold exceptional standards of food service consistently
* Develop strong relationships with Food & Beverage staff, promoting teamwork across departments
* Motivate colleagues to achieve and maintain high standards of service and performance
Ideal candidate:
* Possess extensive experience in pastry arts, preferably within a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel
* Assist the Executive Head Chef & Head Chef in overseeing all pastry kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency
* Embrace a hands-on approach, actively participating in the creation and presentation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
* Display strong leadership and communication skills, effectively managing and mentoring junior pastry team members
* Demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing new pastry recipes and menu items
* Show a commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the pastry kitchen
* Be adaptable and able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Exhibit a passion for pastry arts and a dedication to delivering memorable culinary experiences for guests
