Job overview
This post provides an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person interested in working within Cancer Care.
The post holder will be expected to support the Breast Care Nurses to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient running of the team. As part of the multi-disciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the efficient seamless service provision with a high standard of care by providing elements of direct and indirect patient care and clerical work.
This post will offer the opportunity for personal development within a supportive environment.
Main duties of the job
To organise and setup Holistic Needs Assessments on newly diagnosed and end of treatment patients.
To manage and coordinate prosthesis clinic and ordering of prosthesis.
To be responsible for preparing the surgical and oncology clinics and to ensure that the scans are chased in a timely manner.
To be able to assist in managing and co-ordinate patients on a Personalised Stratified Pathway (PSFU).
To have responsibility for adding and monitoring patients who are managed on a remote monitoring system (Info flex).
Communicate effectively with relevant MDT’s and clinical teams to ensure that all new and migrated stratified follow up patients are referred for discussion after assessment by health professionals.

Person specification
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
* Secondary Education GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Undertaken the HCA course (The Cancer Journey Caring for the Cancer Patient and their Family) or willingness to undertake
EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience in a health care setting
* Evidence of working in a busy environment
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multi-disciplinary team patients and carers in English
* Demonstrates a courteous manner with all individuals who she encounters e.g. patients, relatives, staff etc.
* Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
* Able to perform simple mathematical calculations
* Proficient in use of all Microsoft packages, including word, excel, database and power point, and hospital specific patient administrative support systems ( Evolve, Docgen)
* Has insight into care needs of people with cancer or long-term health condition
