This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. We are delighted to invite applications for this opportunity to work as an Assistant Psychologist in Digital Interventions at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.

We are looking for highly motivated Assistant Psychologists to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Digital service. You will provide support to clients using Silvercloud Digital Interventions for a range of mild to moderate mental health presentations and to those living with long term conditions such as chronic pain. With opportunities to contribute, the growth and development of the Silvercloud platform.

Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported.

There will be additional opportunities to gain experience across other parts of the psychology service. This could include working with qualified clinical psychologists and other professions on tasks such as report writing and scoring for psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, service evaluation and supervised individual and group interventions.

You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated, and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk, and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you'll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable. Previous experience of working within mental health services and settings is essential, and previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and/or group therapy sessions is desirable.

You will have support links with other clinicians across the wider psychological services. There is also a wide range of mental health services within NHS Lothian with which the Psychological Therapies Service have strong links.

The department is supported by Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS), and there are reporting lines to the Services Director of Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS), however all posts are managed within Psychological Therapies. This is led by the Director of Psychology with a team of senior staff who are committed to supporting and developing staff alongside quality improvement and other programmes that enhance the quality of care provided.

The main base for this post is in Royal Edinburgh Hospital, with optional hybrid working for both clinical and administrative work.
