CAD Technician – EV Infrastructure (ICP / EV Charging)

Salary: Up to £45,000 + bonus
Overview
A rapidly growing EV Charge Point Operator (CPO) is seeking a CAD Technician to support the delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects across the UK.
This role will focus on producing and managing technical drawings for EV charging sites, including layouts, electrical infrastructure, and grid connection designs. The position is key in helping progress projects from feasibility and planning through to construction.

Key Responsibilities
Design & CAD Production
* Produce site layout drawings for EV charging installations
* Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings and infrastructure layouts
* Prepare electrical and cable routing drawings
* Support grid connection and ICP design documentation
* Assist with planning submission drawings
* Produce as-built drawings following installation
Project Delivery Support
* Work closely with the Head of Design and project teams to support multiple active sites
* Translate site surveys and mark-ups into accurate CAD drawings
* Maintain drawing standards and document control
* Update and manage drawing revisions throughout project stages
Infrastructure Design Support
* Support design of:
* EV charger positioning and layouts
* Transformer and feeder pillar locations
* Cable routing and trench layouts
* Integration with existing electrical infrastructure
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
* Experience producing technical or infrastructure drawings
* Understanding of electrical layouts and cable routing
* Strong attention to detail and organisation
Desirable
* Experience in EV charging infrastructure projects
* Experience working with ICP or DNO design submissions
* Knowledge of LV/HV electrical infrastructure
* Experience preparing drawings for planning or construction packages
Personal Attributes
* Detail-focused and technically minded
* Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment
Package
* Salary: Up to £45,000
* Bonus: Performance-based bonus
