Ongar Health Centre are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their practice on a permanent, full‑time basis.
The role will see the successful applicant take direct line management responsibility for the admin team, medical secretaries and prescription administrators. There will also be operational line management of the reception manager, dispensary manager and lead nurse to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operational effectiveness of the practice.
Main duties of the job
* Support to the Practice Business Manager with the wider coordination of practice functionality
* Assist with patient services, premises, health and safety management and IT functions
* First line contact for patient complaints to ensure early resolution and adherence to complaint management timescales and other requirements
* Through innovative ways of working, support the Practice Business Manager leading the team in promoting ED&I, Quality, Confidentiality, Collaborative Working, Service Delivery, Learning and Development
* Ensuring the practice complies with CQC regulations

Person Specification
Experience
* Excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner
* A polite, confidential, and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times
* Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations
* Be confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently
* Strong IT and administration skills
* Previous experience of SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential as training will be given
* Experience of working in primary care would be preferred but full training will be given
* Previous experience of dealing with complaints would be preferred
* Previous management experience needed
