Purchasing and Supply Chan Manager

Are you a commercially sharp, detail-driven Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager who thrives in complex, regulated environments? Do you combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the Procurement function within this fast-growing SME.
We're looking for a talented procurement and supply chain professional who can ensure the timely, cost-effective acquisition of stock to safeguard supply continuity for customers whilst having a positive impact on the business' profitability and efficiency.
What will the role involve?
1. Oversee a direct procurement spend of c £3m
2. Source items for stock from a range of suppliers from both the UK and Europe
3. Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, identifying opportunities for cost savings and driving maximum value for the business
4. Manage key supplier relationships, undertaking contract management and supplier performance reviews
5. Mitigate risk by developing contingency supply plans for all product lines through second / third supply sources
6. Accurately forecast product usage using historical data and insight from teams across the business
7. Ensure sufficient stock levels to maintain high product availability, whilst minimising waste
8. Anticipate and mitigate stock outages before they happen
9. Drive stock system accuracy and lead regular stock takes
Working Hours
10. Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30
11. Based in the office full time
12. Regular travel to visit second site based East of Central London (travel expensed)
Ideal Skills and Experience
13. Proven experience in a similar purchasing, procurement or supply chain role
14. Skilled in negotiation and supplier management
15. Strong inventory management skills, with experience of forecasting requirements and managing purchases to ensure product availability
16. Previous experience working in a fast paced, highly regulated environment such as food, pharma, medical or healthcare
17. Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
18. Good systems and analytical skills (Intermediate Excel as a minimum)
