Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working with a thriving and forward-thinking organisation that is seeking an Assistant Accountant to strengthen its finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous and motivated individual to gain broad exposure across core financial processes within a collaborative and fast-moving environment.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be responsible for supporting a range of accounting activities, from transactional duties to month-end reporting and analysis.
Duties will include:
Accounts Receivable:
* Generate and issue customer invoices.
* Resolve billing queries and monitor credit limits.
* Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
Accounts Payable:
* Process supplier invoices and reconcile accounts.
* Handle payment schedules and resolve discrepancies.
Banking & Reconciliation:
* Carry out daily bank and credit card reconciliations.
Payroll & HR Administration:
* Assist with payroll by verifying timesheets and addressing any issues.
* Manage onboarding and offboarding documentation, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
Month-End & Financial Reporting:
* Support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., fixed assets, accruals, prepayments).
* Review overheads and investigate variances.
* Participate in monthly stock counts and assist with cost analysis for board-level reporting.
Ideal Candidate:
* Proficient in Xero accounting software.
* Comfortable using Excel for basic functions and data handling.
* Familiar with general office systems and workflows.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
