The Framework Commercial Director will join our Upstream team within our Operations business. There is a requirement for hybrid working with 3 days per week being based out of either Aberdeen, Glasgow, Stockton or Staines. There will also be a requirement to visit UK based client sites as and when required. Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. LI-Hybrid The Role The Framework Commercial Director (FCD) will be responsible for delivering a high standard of commercial management across four major projects within the framework, ensuring full alignment with agreed terms and conditions. In this role, you will be expected to identify and implement effective strategies to manage commercial risk, optimise cost performance, and drive positive outcomes for the business under both the Framework and associated Call Off Contracts. Develop and implement strategies to manage commercial risk, reduce cost, and drive optimal outcomes for Wood. Provide strong commercial leadership across the project lifecycle, ensuring sufficient resourcing and effective dispute avoidance/resolution. Oversee commercial governance for supply chain and project controls, ensuring accurate data, strategic insight, and strong client relationship management. Key responsibilities for this role: Lead all pre ‑ award and tender governance activities, including tender reviews, commercial qualifications, pricing strategies, and compliance with Wood commercial procedures. Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and ongoing risk processes in collaboration with operations. Lead contractual and commercial negotiations with clients and suppliers, including NEC4 contract development and administration. Oversee main contract and subcontract administration, ensuring timely deliverables, change management, commercial compliance, and accurate record management. Direct cost management activities, including cost analysis, maximising recoverables, minimising disallowables, ensuring appropriate accruals, and supporting project forecasting and reporting. Manage project financial tasks such as cashflow, invoicing, expenditure tracking, and accuracy of billing documentation. Drive subcontracting commercial strategy, review existing agreements for risk, and maintain strong governance of subcontract processes. Provide commercial leadership into monthly project reviews, reporting requirements, and alignment with the Financial Management Framework. Ensure commercial processes are understood, followed, and effectively resourced across the Framework. Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Experience in senior commercial role including with leadership/management experience Significant experience and proficiency in NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract administration including Option A and Option C Experience working for contractor in a senior position on UK energy industry EPC projects. Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures. Extensive experience in contract negotiations Extensive experience in claims & dispute resolution (pre and post-litigation experience preferred), including adjudication. Desirable: Degree in Quantity Surveying, along with appropriate professional qualification RICS, CIArb, MCIOB (preferred)
