Job Summary
We are seeking an Activity Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for providing care and assistance to individuals in a nursing home setting. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, particularly those living with Dementia or requiring senior care.
Duties
* Provide support to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
* Assist with all daily living activities and entertainment.
* Engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
* Monitor and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
* Support residents with mobility issues by assisting them in moving safely around the facility.
* Will include some weekend hours.
Skills
* Experience in a care home settings is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Dementia care practices and techniques.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Empathy and patience when dealing with individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges.
* Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
* A commitment to providing high-quality care that respects the individual needs of each resident.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and resident needs.
