How You'll Make a Difference
Building new relationships with communities, partners and town and parish councils, the information and support you provide will help ensure the activities of the council deliver what communities need and support them to develop their own solutions.
To support community growth it is key that you develop good relationships and build conversations within communities to understand their lived experiences and strengths.
What You'll Be Doing
* Provide advice, guidance and support to community groups, partners and customers, supporting community development.
* Identify areas within local communities where support is required and engage people in the delivery of services using your specialist knowledge.
* Assist in building local community networks and develop engagement to make an effective contribution to a wide range of initiatives.
* Develop good relationships with partner organisations to secure involvement in achieving objectives.
* Plan and deliver events, consultations, presentations and briefings to partners and the community, in a variety of settings.
What We Need From You
* Relevant practical experience in community engagement, backed by evidence of appropriate specialist knowledge.
* Working towards a professional technical qualification and/or holding a relevant degree or equivalent qualification relating to community development, engagement or participation.
* Demonstrated specialist knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and processes.
* Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships and engage successfully with community groups and partner organisations.
What You Need To Know
* Limited‑term contract, ending 31 March 2027.
* Hybrid role: work at our office in Badminton Road and from home, with expectation of being out and about in our communities, including some evening and weekend working.
Interviews will be held on 26 November 2025.
