Robert Half is delighted to be working with a privately owned and expanding business in Glasgow that is looking to strengthen its back-office finance function. Due to the retirement of a long-standing employee, the business is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the executive directors and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the full spectrum of bookkeeping and financial administration duties. This is a varied and collaborative role, offering the chance to get involved in all areas of the business and make the position your own.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across the business.
* Process invoicing and manage credit control activities.
* Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
* Assist with preparation of annual statutory accounts for review by external auditors and directors.
* Support financial reporting and ad hoc tasks as required.
* Work closely with executive directors to provide financial insight and contribute to operational decision-making.
About You
* Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
* Strong knowledge of invoicing, credit control, and VAT reporting.
* Comfortable preparing accounts to trial balance and supporting year-end processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach, with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the business.
* Professional qualifications are not required, but relevant experience is essential.
