Job Overview
Pharmacy Assistants are required in the Aseptic Unit primarily based at St Luke’s Hospital. The team manufactures sterile medicines within a clean‑room environment for hospital patients, including chemotherapy, antibiotics, IV nutrition and radiopharmaceuticals.
Responsibilities
* Prepare pharmaceutical products, including radiopharmaceuticals, following defined procedures and processes.
* Clean pharmaceutical cleanrooms to GMP standards.
* Order and receive stock, and manage equipment.
* Maintain high standards of documentation and records.
* Participate in the weekend working rota and rotational work in the radiopharmacy department.
Working Hours
Full‑time and part‑time posts are available. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am–6 pm, with possible rotational work starting at 6:30 am. Working hours can be discussed at interview and the management team is flexible.
Qualifications & Training
* No prior experience is required; this is a potential training post.
* Successful candidates must undertake training to NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services before being assigned to the full Band 3 PayScale.
* A basic level of education and English language skills is required.
* Existing NVQ Level 2 holders will start on Band 3 PayScale.
