Finance Manager - Clinical Division, Band 6

To provide support to the Finance Business Partner in the provision of a comprehensive advice and support service to a range of budget holders. Key responsibilities will include the supervision of a small section of staff dealing with the maintenance of budgetary control information systems.
The post holder may be required to rotate within clinical or corporate financial management areas as appropriate.
The proposed interview date is 18th June.
Main duties of the job
Within the Divisional accounting section, the relevant teams consist of a Divisional Finance Manager each with Finance Manager support. This post provides direct supervision of one team member including appraisals, day‑to‑day line management, verification of timesheets, annual leave, performance, motivation and interviews.

The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and we offer flexible working.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Possess professional accountancy qualification equivalent to Association of Accounting Technicians Member level (MAAT) or have an equivalent level of financial or operational management experience.
* Studying towards a full Consultancy Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) accountancy qualification.
* Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
Experience
* Analysis and interpretation of large volumes of data.
* Have good numeracy skills. Be able to analyse and draw conclusions from large volumes of data.
* Have a working knowledge of the key elements of the NHS Finance regime, ideally with experience in an NHS organisation.
* Experience working in a financial or operational management environment, preferably within the NHS.
* Have a working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and other financial systems.

* Demonstrate good communication skills both verbal and written, to explain and interpret financial and non‑financial data to finance and non‑finance staff.
