Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an RF Design Engineer familiar with aircraft radar to work at our client site in Cheltenham. We need a team player who can use their initiative and has a real passion for electronic engineering. The role would ideally suit someone who is comfortable carrying out hands on testing and modifications to boards while having a strong background in RF design. The successful candidate will have 5 years’ experience performing similar activities. RF Design engineer with proven practical design experience for aircraft radar. You will be working to understand why new build legacy product does not work as expected making use of gold units from the past. Work will be based in an aerospace manufacturing area on a legacy systems rig. BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. A lower-level qualification such as HNC would be acceptable with significant demonstrable relevant experience performing the same/similar work Proven practical RF (component level) design and testing of RF circuits across a wide frequency range (eg, 30MHz to 30GHz, including LNA Amplifier, High Power Amplifier, filter, local oscillator, synthesiser, modulator design etc) Excellent practical skills including soldering, fault finding and the use of RF test equipment including Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters & VNAs. Ability to perform design proving tests and trials using an legacy aircraft systems rig. Fully conversant with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, including design for manufacture and test. Computer literate, Microsoft Windows, Office with particular emphasis on Word & Excel. Great communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the business modifying the tone and message according to the audience.
