Morgan Stanley’s Global Sustainability Office (GSO) implements the firm’s sustainability strategy and drives sustainable investing. The EMEA GSO team partners with senior leadership to integrate sustainability considerations across business units.
Job Summary
The Director will be a sustainability subject matter generalist with strong project management, attention to detail, and business communication skills. The Director will develop and manage complex work plans, collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, support the firm’s sustainability disclosures and reporting requirements, and enhance internal employee engagement around sustainability activities and strategy.
Responsibilities
* Support EMEA regional and firm‑wide sustainability reporting efforts by collecting content, drafting reports, improving reporting capabilities, tracking data, and liaising with finance to project‑manage GSO contributions.
* Lead the development and execution of materiality assessments for CSRD and ISSB disclosures.
* Support sustainability‑related regulatory change and delivery efforts within EMEA, collaborating with business divisions and control functions to enhance compliance.
* Assist in developing agendas, collating materials, and capturing minutes for EMEA committees and governance forums.
* Drive the firm’s submissions to EMEA responses to RFP/RFI questions on sustainability topics.
* Conduct research on emerging corporate sustainability, regulatory reporting, and impact reporting topics; monitor issues and identify related risks and opportunities.
What you’ll bring to the role
* 5+ years of corporate sustainability experience, either in‑house or consulting; financial services and regulatory compliance experience a plus.
* Solid understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks and emerging EMEA regulatory regimes.
* Detail‑oriented with excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to balance multiple priorities, manage stakeholders, and prioritize work with senior support.
* Collaborative team player.
* Passion for sustainability and employee program amplification.
* Ability to build relationships and work with cross‑functional partners for alignment.
* Proven success record.
