JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Operations Director to oversee strategic, financial, and operational performance across all business areas.
As an Operations Director you will take full accountability for P&L, planning, cost control, and productivity improvement, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
The Operations Director will champion Lean methodologies, drive efficiency gains, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation across manufacturing and logistics operations.
Duties
* Lead Strategic Operations: Oversee all operational activities with accountability for P&L and delivery against targets
* Manage Planning and Production: Ensure efficient manufacturing, storage, and resource allocation to meet customer and business objectives
* Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean tools and techniques to streamline processes and enhance productivity
* Ensure Compliance: Maintain health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all sites
* Develop Strategic Vision: Support long-term business growth through operational transformation and change management initiatives
* People Leadership: Develop, coach, and empower teams to achieve departmental performance goals and succession planning
* Performance Management: Set and monitor KPIs to track effectiveness and ensure operational targets are achieved
* Procurement and Cost Control: Oversee supply chain, quality assurance, and procurement efficiency
* Support Best Practice: Lead improvement initiatives that embed excellence and consistency across the organisation
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience of operational leadership in a manufacturing environment
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify business improvement opportunities
* Excellent planning and organisational skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach
* Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation
* Experience with Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies
* Strong communication and influencing skills to lead teams and drive collaboration
* A background in production programming, scheduling, and capital project management
