The Transport Service Area is developing an ambitious programme of transport improvements associated with delivering the Council’s Corporate Plan, Transport White Paper and One Planet Cardiff strategy. The Council is undertaking business case development work to inform the Council’s decisions on options for a Road User Payment (RUP) scheme. The next 12 months will involve the next stages of business case work.

We are seeking a self-motivated and skilled Lead Officer for a period of twelve months to support the development of a Road User Payment (RUP) scheme and associated programme of schemes and projects across Cardiff. This role involves working collaboratively with various departments and external partners to ensure effective and efficient development work to support the Council in making relevant decisions on the RUP scheme.
What We Are Looking For From You
Key Responsibilities of the role will include:
* Develop, procure, and project manage key projects within the RUP Team.
* Collect, check, and validate data, conduct research, and analyse evidence related to the RUP scheme.
* Deliver projects that effect material changes in the RUP scheme, including consultation and responding to policy-related queries.
* Engage directly with stakeholders to support the implementation of the RUP scheme.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Planning, Transport & Environment service area and other service areas.
* Facilitate the exchange of information and good practice between the RUP scheme and associated projects.
* Procure and manage consultants, contractors, and developers as required.
* Support the implementation of physical infrastructure related to the RUP scheme.
