This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and families, and is passionate about their health and wellbeing. We are looking for registered nurses and/or Midwives interested in becoming a student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) (Health Visiting), with a 12-month training programme starting in January 2026.

We provide an excellent learning environment facilitated by practice supervisors and assessors, supporting you to become fully qualified through the University of Greenwich, while being employed as part of our friendly, professional team helping children have the best start in life.

You will be paid throughout your training, and upon successful completion, you’ll qualify as a Band 6 SCPHN with a health visiting specialism, offering many career progression opportunities.

Our work involves partnerships with various agencies including schools, family hubs, and GPs, managing diverse and rewarding caseloads. We encourage creativity and new ideas.

This community-based role involves duties carried out at your home, community settings, client homes, or trust sites.

Available locations include: Tonbridge and Malling, Tonbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Swanley, Gravesend, and Dartford.


Your Daily Activities Will Include:

* Promoting public health initiatives such as BFI, family partnership working, speech, language, communication, and parenting programs.
* Assessing the emotional wellbeing of parents, carers, infants, and children.
* Monitoring and assessing growth of infants aged 0-5 years.
* Delivering care packages on topics like healthy weight, nutrition, toileting, behavior, and sleep.
* Identifying tongue tie and making onward referrals.
* Undertaking family health needs assessments.
* Supporting child development through tools like ASQ and social-emotional questionnaires.
* Providing vaccination advice.
* Managing a caseload of families.
* Focusing on high-impact areas outlined in the Healthy Child Programme.
* Safeguarding children and families.
