Job Description:
The Service is looking for a driven, dedicated and professional Executive Assistant to support the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and manage a small executive support team.
About the role
In this role, you will support the CFO and senior leadership team in ensuring the Service operates as a high‑performing, effective and efficient organisation. This includes making sure they are where they need to be, are fully prepared for meetings, and managing key stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.
You will work directly with the CFO, where a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity will be required. You will be responsible for carrying out duties delegated by them and for proactively dealing with matters on behalf of the CFO, without the need for escalation wherever possible and commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.
This rewarding role will play a key part in organising, managing and supporting a range of corporate events, working closely with a variety of stakeholders to ensure delivery is of a high quality and completed in a timely manner.
About you
You will use your initiative and professional judgement to proactively plan and arrange activities.
You will be well-versed in using a range of Microsoft Office 365 applications and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance the way we manage meetings, minutes and diaries, ensuring an efficient and streamlined service.
You will bring experience as a Personal or Executive Assistant, with a significant secretarial and administrative background that includes diary management, travel coordination, minute‑taking and tracking actions through to completion. You will also have experience managing or supporting a team, contributing to setting targets, monitoring progress and ensuring work is delivered effectively.
You will have a proven ability to research and analyse complex information to produce clear and accurate reports and documentation. Strong written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to produce high‑quality minutes, correspondence and papers for a range of audiences, supported by a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
