Production Process Engineer – EV / Automotive / eVTOL – Milton Keynes – £40k to £50k

Key Responsibilities
* Develop, refine and document production processes for prototype and low-volume manufacturing.
* Analyse existing workflows and identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, improve quality and increase efficiency.
* Define standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and process documentation.
* Specify, design or source tooling, jigs and fixtures to support repeatable and high-quality assembly.
* Work with suppliers or internal teams to implement robust tooling solutions.
* Ensure tooling is safe, scalable and aligned with engineering requirements.
* Provide hands‑on engineering support to build and assembly teams during day‑to‑day production.
* Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Support introduction and validation of new parts, processes and engineering changes.
* Ensure production processes meet required quality standards and specifications.
* Support non‑conformance investigations and implement process improvements based on findings.
* Collaborate with quality teams to ensure appropriate process controls and documentation are in place.
* Drive process improvement initiatives across assembly, machining, test and integration activities.
* Implement lean methodologies to support waste reduction and operational efficiency.
* Contribute to the development of scalable processes as the organisation transitions toward higher volumes.
* Work closely with engineering, production, procurement and quality to ensure process readiness.
* Provide technical input during design reviews regarding manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
* Ensure processes remain aligned with evolving engineering requirements and programme timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience as a Production Engineer, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar.
* Background in engineering, aerospace, motorsport, technology or complex mechanical/electromechanical manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling and production workflows.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, BoMs and engineering specifications.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and process optimisation methodologies.
* Proficient with documentation, process mapping and production planning tools.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
