Role: DAS technical support manager
Location: Thame, Oxford

Company size: being a small business you will wear many hats and even the CEO has to roll up his sleeves and go down the track time to time
Contract or Perm applications considered, contract is outside IR35
Overview:
The Cellular DAS team is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined technical support lead to deliver complex cellular and RF infrastructure projects.
This role would suit someone who has been technical support and happy being more hands off, less field work but someone who used to be on the tools, who would how to review technical documents and worse case do the job hence you must be able to test and commission.
You will manage multiple concurrent DAS and lab projects, working closely with cross‑functional teams including test engineers, facilities, electricians, network planners, and external
Core Technical Knowledge required below as a manager you will need to guide and train them and and work with the project manager and engineers to lead and guide them:
* MUST have experience in DAS and how to commission systems
* Build and test commission systems
* If someone isn't working you can fix it
* Strong understanding of RF communication principles, protocols, and standards.
* Knowledge of public safety systems, private land mobile radio, and in‑building cellular coverage.
* Familiarity with RF equipment: antennas, amplifiers, repeaters, spectrum analysers, and test tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination
• Support senior PMs in planning and coordinating project activities.
• Ensure technical tasks are completed on time and to specification.
• Maintain clear communication across internal teams and stakeholders.
Installation & Commissioning
• Verify DAS installations align with approved designs and best practices.
• Review and validate cable tests, grid tests, audio files, and survey reports.
• Analyse test results, identify performance issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
Documentation & Compliance
• Understand municipal, agency, and carrier requirements for wireless deployments.
• Maintain knowledge of regional carrier standards and required frequency bands.

Subcontractor Management
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality workmanship.
• Maintain strong working relationships and resolve issues promptly.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all safety protocols during installation and troubleshooting.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks on site.
Project Execution
• Track schedules, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Support PMs to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Communication
• Provide regular updates to clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
• Address queries and concerns promptly.
Specialist Responsibilities:
Cellular DAS Deployment:
• Lead the design and architecture of Cellular DAS solutions.
• Oversee subcontractors and integrators during system implementation.
• Lead DAS commissioning, optimisation, and ongoing operations.
Vendor Management
• Develop product requirement documents (PRDs).
• Define project scope and evaluate technical/commercial proposals.
• Contribute to product performance assessments and vendor feedback loops.
Mobile Network Operator Liaison
• Establish indoor and lab cell site build plans and plans of record (POR).
• Manage operator service launches, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with cellular DAS, RF distribution systems, spectrum analysis, and RF modulation.
• Strong understanding of RAN equipment and cellular network architecture.
• Hands‑on experience delivering and troubleshooting RF solutions.
• Proven experience in DAS and/or cellular test lab environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Experience with cellular equipment installation and construction management.
• Familiarity with RF shielding enclosures and lab environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and innovative thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated, organised, and adaptable across multiple tasks.
