3-Month Contract with a Local Authority
Summary
* The role is dedicated to reducing reoffending, enhancing safety and wellbeing, and fostering positive change through structured intervention, engagement, and consistent relationship-building. The postholder will collaborate closely with Youth Justice Service Case Managers, families, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality, targeted activities aimed at supporting desistance and managing risk.
Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and delivery of intensive one-to-one support for young people under statutory Youth Justice Service interventions.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with high-risk and vulnerable young people to encourage engagement and compliance with Court-ordered activities.
* Deliver structured interventions on both a one-to-one and group basis, focusing on desistance from offending, safety and wellbeing, and risk of harm reduction.
* Collaborate with Youth Justice Case Managers to design and implement a weekly ISS timetable tailored to each young person's assessed needs.
* Plan, deliver, and review support packages, ensuring a consistent and high-quality timetable that incorporates input from partner agencies where required.
* Ensure all activities are well-organized, coordinated, and recorded to support effective risk management.
Essential Experience Required
* Experience working with children and young people, ideally within a youth justice, social care, youth work, or safeguarding environment.
* Proven ability to engage vulnerable or high-risk young people with complex needs.
Essential Qualifications Required
* Good standard of education.
* Relevant training or qualifications in youth work, social care, criminology, psychology, education, or safeguarding (or willingness to work towards relevant qualifications).
Additional Information
* Working hours: 35 hours per week
* DBS required for the role.
* Please note that this can include working in the early evening as well as providing occasional cover for appointments/reparation on Sunday'
* Bi-weekly payment schedule.
