Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated technician to join our team at the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. The post holder will provide a medicines management service to an allocated number of wards across the Trust. This will include providing a ward top-up service, checking of Patients' Own Drugs (PODs), undertaking medicines reconciliation, one‑stop dispensing and having an important role in discharge counselling. The role will involve:
Responsibilities
* Being the pharmacy technical link person between wards, Discharge Lounge, and Pharmacy.
* Being a key player in developing and extending the role of Pharmacy Technicians within the Trust.
* Playing a key role in supporting the training of pre‑registration trainee pharmacy technicians/pharmacists under the direction of the Principal Pharmacist for Clinical Services.
Qualifications and Requirements
You should be an Accredited Checking Technician or be willing to undertake this. The post holder will have experience working as a Medicines Optimisation Technician.
You will be working alongside a friendly multidisciplinary team both on the wards and within the pharmacy department. You will be passionate about patient care and will be working in a patient‑focused pharmacy service, working closely with the ward pharmacists and the Lead Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician.
