Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

A thriving secondary school in Runcorn is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HLTA to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored support to SEND students, both in class and through small group or 1:1 interventions.
* Assist in the planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons under the guidance of teaching staff.
* Take responsibility for delivering learning activities to small groups or the whole class when required.
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that enables all learners to thrive.
* Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers and SENCO.
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to meet individual learning needs.
Essential Skills & Qualities:
* Hold HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification.
* Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally within a school setting.
* Strong understanding of SEND and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
* Adaptability, patience, and a proactive approach to learning support.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
* Experience with specific SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
* Experience supporting GCSE preparation and curriculum delivery.
