Food Technology Teacher – Durham Start Date: September 2025 A secondary school in Durham is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join its Design & Technology department from September 2025. The successful applicant will deliver inspiring Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils, encouraging them to develop valuable life skills and a solid understanding of nutrition, food preparation, and kitchen safety. Main Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national Food Technology curriculum Support students’ learning in areas such as nutrition, culinary techniques, and food science Prepare pupils for assessments, particularly at GCSE level, and help them reach their full potential Foster a safe, inclusive, and purposeful classroom environment Take part in departmental planning and contribute to enrichment opportunities We are looking for someone who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Has experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4 Possesses strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education Is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student progress Enjoys working collaboratively and brings energy and creativity to their role This role is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
