Job overview
Chesterfield Satellite unit is a 12 bedded Unit providing care for 62 haemodialysis patients Monday - Saturday, being part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, but being based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
To develop and provide specialised programmes of nursing care to a diverse range of patients in a satellite haemodialysis unit, and provide support to carers on the unit. You will lead a team of qualified, support and student team members. You will take charge of the ward/department regularly. To support the Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered. The applicant should be already be a Non Medical Prescriber or willing to undertake and develop skills to provide enhanced patient care.
Main duties of the job
* To deliver high quality patient care, acting as a role model for nursing practice across the Specialty of Renal and the Trust.
* To provide clinical nursing advice, education and leadership within the speciality. To act as a source of expertise, advice and knowledge for patients, carers and Healthcare Professionals.
* To work within the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of optimal care throughout all aspects of the patients care pathway and in all clinical settings.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Registered on part 1 of the NMC register
* Current NMC registration
* Evidence of post registered education relevent to role competancies
* To have completed the national practice assessor training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.
* Advanced renal module or working towards
* NMP
Experience
* Extensive experience of caring for Renal patients
* Current experience of working with haemodialysis patients
* Ability to manage change
* Proven leadership skills
Other Factors
* Ability to work flexibly to meet needs of service and patient care
* Excellent role model for all healthcare professionals
