About The Role
This role is responsible for ensuring that the building remains compliant and safe for all users. This includes ensuring that all permits and inductions are in place and that all statutory checks are completed in a timely manner. Identifying and reporting any defects or faults along with required repairs and maintenance to college buildings and estates equipment.
The role is also responsible for the security of college premises, which includes setting and un-setting alarms and locking and unlocking premises.
Main Responsibilities
* Undertaking monitoring of appropriate estates-related contracts in line with college policies, including all contractor personnel on site, and assisting in the preparation of written reports.
* Undertaking porterage duties as required, including the receipt of goods and services.
* Where appropriate, undertaking emergency and occasional cleaning, such as cleaning and tidying external and internal areas, including litter removal and bin emptying.
* Driving as required, ensuring current legal requirements are met.
* Undertaking appropriate training and personal development as part of a planned training programme.
* Providing sickness and absence/holiday cover where appropriate.
* Undertaking minor repair and maintenance work related to the fabric, fixtures, fittings, equipment, and furniture following appropriate training.
* Ensuring all scheduled checks are completed in line with college requirements.
