The Langley Hotel & Spa, a Luxury Collection Hotel by Marriott, is actively seeking for a Commis Pastry Chef to join our team. The Langley Hotel opened its doors in June 2019, following an extensive six-year renovation. Working alongside the award-winning Dennis Irvine Studio, the multi-million-pound renovation has transformed the historic Grade II-listed Langley Park House from a dilapidated former private home into a majestic countryside icon and a hotel that encompasses the modern sensibilities and aspirations of the modern traveller. We have collection of exclusive dining experiences, including a signature restaurant with an acclaimed chef at the helm and an intimate bar specializing in the finest cognac and cigars. Cedar Restaurant fine dining restaurant offering fresh sourced ingredients from local suppliers Churchill bar casual dining, light bites Banqueting & Events selection of canapes and events catering The Commis Pastry Chef will be responsible for: Supporting the senior pastry chefs in ensuring the efficient, and effective running of the kitchen operation Help prepare dishes so they are ready for guests at the right time Help check food items on delivery and tidy them into cold storage Keeping equipment and workspaces clean and tidy Ensuring that the preparation and presentation of the food is at a high standard, and complies with food safety regulations Carry out the preparatory work for creating dishes The ability to ensure that all mise en place is ready before the start of the service Supporting the Events team in the execution and delivery of events and the opportunity to be creative Being capable of working independently and juggling an ever-changing workload The successful candidate should ideally have: With proven experience from within a similar 5 luxury hospitality environment Who is creative with a genuine desire to be the best That understands H&S and food safety guidelines With passion for food Team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work What we offer: Discounted Room and F&B rates within Marriott worldwide Cycle to work scheme Pension scheme Learning and development programmes Free Meals on Duty On-site parking Uniform In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
