The School and Role
Are you a Psychology Graduate looking for meaningful, hands‑on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a specialist SEN school in Rochdale, supporting pupils with barriers to learning. You’ll play a vital role in helping young people overcome obstacles, build confidence and succeed both academically and emotionally.
In this role, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
* Help students develop emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and social skills
* Support teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their progress
* Gain valuable experience in education, mental health and child development
This role is ideal if you’re considering a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching or Child Mental Health and want real classroom experience that makes an impact.
Requirements:
* Psychology degree (or working towards one)
* Experience with children or young people (SEN, education, care or youth work preferred)
* Strong interest in SEND, SEMH, behaviour or mental health
* Patient, resilient and confident supporting additional needs
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
