Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Systems Development Manager (Regulatory Services) to take a lead role in overseeing the computer systems that support our Regulatory Services, including: Environmental Protection & EnforcementHousing Enforcement & Home ImprovementsTrading StandardsEnvironmental Health Licensing Salary: Band G £42, 839 - £48, 226 The role will: Lead the management, maintenance, and development of Regulatory Services computer systems.Oversee the day-to-day operation, security, and efficiency of these systems, ensuring they run smoothly and reliably.Ensure systems are regularly maintained, updated, and compliant with relevant standards.Lead on system upgrades, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.Work with service areas to identify improvements, implement new features, and ensure systems meet business needs.Translate business requirements into system solutions and support users to maximise system capabilities.Provide expert advice on system use, data integrity, and best practices.Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of system development and support.A Level 5 qualification (Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent).At least 2 years’ experience managing computer systems, including system development, change management, and user support.Experience supporting and managing case management systems, ideally within Regulatory Services.Strong project management and change management skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.A commitment to the council’s values: One Team, Customer Focused, Inclusive, Ambitious, and Accountable.We reserve the right to close vacancies prior to their advertised date if we receive a large number of applications.
