Overview
We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. You will work closely with nursing and medical staff and with patients, supported by a team of oncology pharmacy staff to deliver pharmaceutical services on day‑case units and wards.
Responsibilities
* Participate in the dispensing of prescriptions for in‑patients and out‑patients, including clinical trial medications.
* Carry out final checks in accordance with the department’s accreditation scheme.
* Completing all other dispensary activities as designated by the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager or deputy.
* Provide topping‑up services for stocked medicines to wards and departments, and non‑stock top‑up service to one‑stop wards.
* Assist with purchasing as required, following departmental procedures and rota.
* Counsel and provide information to patients/carers collecting medication, including prescription payment, exemption, and further supplies.
Qualifications & Training
Applicants with a retail pharmacy background are welcome. The department offers excellent education and training support, including clinical trials exposure and ongoing professional development.
Benefits
High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro‑rata.
