Parklands Medical Practice are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse to lead a team of nurses and HCA's and work within the wider team to deliver safe and effective care to our 10,200 patients across both sites. We are a teaching and training practice so an interest and experience of supporting learners would be an advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with the Partners and senior team and be expected to contribute to service and staff development, engage in quality improvement projects, and ensure comprehensive clinical governance.
* Take an active lead in managing the practice proactive chronic disease care
* Ensure effective and timely vaccination and immunisation programmes
* Support and coordinate nursing staff to ensure sufficient qualified staff available to provide optimum resources to meet planned patient needs within the wider general practice nursing service. To include : wound care, cytology, travel health advice, health reviews (not exhaustive list)
* Manage annual leave, sickness absence and regular rotas of the nursing team
* Manage protocols, policies, audits and evaluations such as relates to the role
* Engage and support professional development, mandatory and regular training and uphold the NMC code within your own practice, and support junior colleagues if required
* Depending on experience act a line manager to the members of the nursing team
Parklands Medical Practice is a teaching practice based in the Bradford inner city area and the suburban area around BD6. We have a current list size of 10,200 and are part of an active and successful PCN. We have 3 partners and a wider team including salaried doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacist, and a well established and supportive administrative team. We are a supportive team who endeavour to offer a caring and comprehensive service to our patients while recognising the needs of our teams.
