Secondary English Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a secondary school in Southampton to recruit a fully qualified English Teacher to teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, starting ASAP. This is a part-time position, three days per week, with full planning and marking responsibilities.
The school is looking for a committed and passionate English specialist who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high standards of teaching and learning, and support pupils progress in both language and literature.
The Role:
- Teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students
- Plan and deliver high-quality engaging lessons
- Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies
- Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
The Ideal Candidate:
Fully qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS required)
Specialism in Secondary English
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4
Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
Confident with planning, assessment, and marking
Passionate about English and student achievement
Contract Details:
- Location: Southampton, Hampshire
- Position: Secondary English Teacher

- Start Date: ASAP
- Days: 3 days per week
- Contract Type: Temporary / ongoing
- Pay Rate: Up to GBP260 per day (depending on experience)
Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- QTS/QTLS essential
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
- Upsafeguarding training (can be provided)
Eligibility:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to provide two professional references from recent teaching roles
