Location: Bristol (Hybrid working)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000
A specialist engineering role within a defence-focused environment, supporting the technical project management and certification of weapon system equipment. The role involves managing equipment requirements, flow-down processes, and verification and validation strategies to ensure the integrity and compliance of complex weapon systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing technical status and progression of assigned work packages
Specifying clear and precise requirements for internal and external design teams
Collaborating with national and international Design Authorities to define technical solutions and resolve trades
Ensuring compliance with commercial, military, and safety standards throughout the development lifecycle
Developing verification and validation strategies across electrical, mechanical, software, and transversal system elements
Preparing certification documentation for weapon systems and subsystems to support trials and delivery
Facilitating technical information exchange within supply chains and procurement teamsRequired skills and experience:
Strong understanding of engineering design processes, preferably in defence or complex weapon systems
Knowledge of high integrity hardware, networking technologies, custom electronics, or complex mechanical design
Proven experience managing small teams or holding team leadership roles in technical environments
Familiarity with military and commercial standards and certification processesDue to the nature of work at our client’s site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance or can obtain it.
