Window Cleaner / Trainee Repair Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our growing team as a Window Cleaner / Trainee Repair Technician.
The successful candidate will initially start as a Driver's Mate, working alongside an experienced employee or the business owner to learn all aspects of the role. This is a hands-on position with full training provided, offering long-term progression within the company.
Our business not only provides professional window cleaning services but also carries out a wide range of property repairs and maintenance work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop practical skills in both cleaning and repair services.
Duties
* Assist with cleaning windows at residential and commercial properties using appropriate tools and cleaning solutions
* Support senior team members with property repair and maintenance work
* Learn to carry out:
* Replacement window glazing
* Lock, handle, and hinge replacements
* Full fascia, soffit, and guttering repairs or replacements
* Use ladders, scaffolding, and specialised equipment safely under supervision
* Maintain safety procedures at all times, including the use of PPE
* Communicate professionally with customers and represent the company positively
* Maintain equipment and tools in clean, safe working condition
Progression
This role is designed as a training and development position.
With experience and proven ability, the position will lead to:
* Sole working responsibilities
* Use of a fully equipped company vehicle
* Full use of company equipment
* Increased responsibility and independence
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in window cleaning, property maintenance, or similar roles is beneficial but not essential — full training will be provided
* Valid driving licence preferred (required for progression to sole working)
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
* Good communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
* Ability to work safely at height and follow instructions carefully
* Ability to work independently once trained
