Department: Facilities / Health & Safety Reports to: HSE & Facilities Manager Version: 3 MUST HOLD NEBOSH CONSTRUCTION. Hybrid role, covering sites across the south East of England. Role Purpose: To ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across various project and operational sites, while maintaining and developing the organization's HSE management systems. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Conduct risk assessments and task-specific analysis; generate site-specific RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) in line with company procedures. Perform regular site inspections and audits as per internal schedules and compliance frameworks. Collaborate with site and project teams to support the safe installation and execution of works. Monitor working practices of both employees and contractors, ensuring adherence to legislation and best practices. Coordinate or deliver training sessions for site-based personnel and subcontractors. Prepare and distribute toolbox talks and safety communications. Record incidents and accidents, maintain logs, and submit statistical reports regularly. Stay updated on current HSE legislation and advise relevant stakeholders of applicable changes. Produce regular management reports including daily/weekly updates. Provide specialist guidance in areas such as fire safety, hazardous materials, noise, working at height, and occupational health risks. Maintain and update departmental HSE policies, procedures, and documentation. Oversee and update competency and training records for employees and contractors. Ensure all relevant HSE-related certifications and memberships are maintained and current. Contribute to tender documentation, specifically addressing HSE-related queries or requirements. Lead or support accident investigations involving internal teams or subcontractors. Serve as the primary HSE point of contact for clients and external stakeholders. Manage the provision and supply of PPE to relevant site-based teams. Provide remote support or deputize for the HSE Manager when required. People Management: Direct Reports: None currently, but may evolve as team structure changes. Team Size: Currently individual contributor. Financial Responsibility: No budgetary, CAPEX, or P&L responsibilities. Key Internal & External Relationships: Internal: Cross-departmental collaboration with operations, contracts, sales, and senior management. External: Liaison with client-side HSE reps, site managers, installation teams, and third-party suppliers or contractors. Skills, Knowledge & Experience: Essential: NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) Demonstrable experience in a similar construction-based HSE role Valid CSCS card (Manager level or relevant equivalent) Strong track record in writing RAMS and supporting CDM compliance In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to build rapport and work with a wide range of individuals Desirable: Working toward or possession of a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) IOSH membership or working toward certification NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent
