The Role The Finance Executive will be part of our Finance Team, reporting to our Commercial Director to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the finance function within MOV8. Working alongside an external cashroom company that sets up payments and performs all of our cashroom and bookkeeping postings, this varied role encompasses a wide range s of finance and billing within a legal firm. The role involves extensive client contact including payment checking, preparing ledgers and file auditing so you must have excellent attention to detail, customer service and sales skills. You will require to know our product and price list inside and out in order to produce accurate and detailed cash accounts and invoices for our busy legal and estate agency departments. Responsibilities Checking cash accounts and ledger entries as well as populating matter ledgers both proactively and upon the request of conveyancing department Fee Earners Pre-settlement checks of all cash accounts and invoices in advance of settlement per internal service level agreements in place at that time Checking the accuracy of payments set up on the Client Bank by external cashroom company per Fee Earner instructions File Auditing Liaising with external partners, including external cashroom company when accounts queries are raised by internal team members including the Managing Director Dealing with billing queries from clients Credit control Requirements Essential : Previous finance or accounts experience; Excellent numeracy skills; Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; Outstanding attention to detail; A positive attitude and great team working skills; Experience of legal and general accounting software systems. Ability to communicate at senior level and liaise with all parties both internally and externally. Desirable: SOLAS qualification; Experience as a Legal Cashier Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules Breadth of general accounting experience; Ability to produce accounts related documents and related information; Experience of dealing with a high volume of conveyancing transactions within a cashroom; Experience of using Xero. Remuneration Starting salary is between £25,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
