Foundation Teaching Assistant Apprentice
ContractType: Fixed Term post for 15 months with the possibilityof extension
Hours:Minimum of 16 hours per week
We are offering an exciting opportunity foran Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our team at Awel y MorPrimary School. This is an excellent opportunity for anyoneinterested in working with children or beginning a career ineducation.
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, youwill get hands-on experience in the classroom, working alongsidefriendly, experienced staff who will support you every step ofthe way. You will earn while you learn, build new skills and worktowards a Level 2 Qualification in Supporting Teaching andLearning in Schools.
Your DailyRoutine Will be
* Supporting children in theclassroom
* Assist with setting up the classroom andresources
* Assist with planning learning activitiesand materials.
* Implementing individual learningprograms
* Keep accurate records and help to trackstudents progress
The successful applicant will work towardsa Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning inSchools over a 15 month period. This qualificationincludes:
* On-the-job training, gaining practicalexperience within a school setting.
* Work Based Tuition, provided by NeathPort Talbot College
* A digital literacy essential skillsqualification
* Regular assessments and feedback totrack progress and improve skills.
You will have
* Enthusiasm about working withchildren
* Strong Communication Skills
* Good Standard of Numeracy andLiteracy
* The ability to work as part of ateam
* GCSE English & Maths at grade D orabove with the opportunity to work at these as part of theEssential Skills
