Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and inspiring creativity within the team. The Head Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our establishment while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food preparation.
* Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations.
* Manage food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations.
* Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste and control costs.
* Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and service standards.
* Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
* Assist in serving customers when required, ensuring excellent hospitality standards are upheld.
Requirements
* Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
* Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable within the hospitality industry.
* Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality environment is essential.
* Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
