TLR2 Teacher with responsibilities for the development of Maths & Numeracy

Job Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to take on a TLR2 leadership role, with responsibility for the strategic development of Maths and Numeracy across the school. This role is pivotal in raising standards and embedding high-quality teaching and learning in line with the Numeracy+ Framework, tailored to meet the diverse and complex needs of our pupils aged 3–19 with a wide range of learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to drive forward innovative and inclusive numeracy practices.
* Lead on curriculum development, assessment, and intervention planning, ensuring numeracy is meaningfully embedded across the curriculum and supports pupils’ functional and lifelong learning
* Monitor and evaluate the impact of numeracy provision across key stages.
* Provide coaching and CPD to colleagues to build whole-school capacity in Maths
* Liaise with leadership and therapeutic teams to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to numeracy development
Qualifications & Skills Required
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): achieved through a PGCE or BA/BSc with QTS,
* Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - Especially in relation to curriculum development, numeracy, SEN (Special Educational Needs), and leadership.
* Experience of teaching Maths and/or Numeracy across relevant key stages.
* A strong understanding of working with pupils with ALN/SEN (Additional Learning Needs/Special Educational Needs), especially in a special school setting.
* Familiarity with or willingness to adopt and embed the Numeracy+ Framework into school planning and delivery.
* Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to support and develop colleagues.
* Effective use of assessment data to inform teaching, planning, and intervention
Working Conditions
* Term-time only (plus additional days for preparation).
* Typical hours: 08.30-15.30
