Team Leader, Planning and Operational Support Team, Judicial College – Executive Officer (EO)
Overview
The Judicial College has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Officer to join its Planning and Operations Team (POpS) to lead a team of event organisers based in the Royal Courts of Justice, London or 5 Wellington Place, Leeds. The Judicial College supports the Lady Chief Justice and the Senior President of Tribunals in arranging and delivering judge training, ensuring the College has the right support to provide advice on the design and delivery of training, innovative digital systems, and well‑organised seminars. The College delivers about 2,000 judicial seminars a year and is expanding its training programme to meet emerging needs, including more digital platforms and e‑learning. The post can be based in London or Leeds, with travel to the other sites where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of event organisers at AO grade who provide administrative support to organising and supporting magistrate training with digital, face‑to‑face and blended learning delivery methods.
* Manage team people issues including performance, attendance and conduct in line with HR policies.
* Establish, monitor and revise plans for the administrative support for jurisdictional training programmes.
* Work closely and flexibly with a team of team leaders and managers to ensure that the wider training programme is effectively managed and resourced, deploying staff and other resources as required.
* Manage and monitor the maintenance of accurate records of attendees at training events to assist with budget management.
* Support senior managers in the design, testing and embedding of new or improved administrative procedures as part of continuous improvement projects.
* Take responsibility for setting up and managing the training event area on the College’s online Judicial College Learning site, including course page set‑up, online bookings and addition of course materials.
* Ensure appropriate training venues are booked and delegates are fully informed of arrangements for events.
* Attend training events to provide support for an event or an event planner when necessary.
* Take minutes of committee and planning meetings when required.

Working Hours
This is a full‑time role of 37 hours per week. The post can be based in London or Leeds, with occasional travel to the other offices as required. We operate a flexible working policy.
