Project Manager

This role depends on robust Project Management, Leadership, Strategic Insight, and a Continuous Improvement Mindset, someone to lead and deliver complex, high-value Manufacturing and Modular Build projects in a facility with customer on site presence.
Youll come with a Ship Building / Senior Vessel Engineering / Heavy Fabrication / Heavy Modular Construction background to play a critical part where youll both roll up your sleeves and operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

So, what will you do?
Youll be the senior accountable owner for the relationship of your project with your customer, a MoD prime contractor leading and managing a complex project with full accountability for budget, timeline, risk, and stakeholder management
Interpreting complex technical, commercial, and legal documentation youll ensure design engineering and stringent quality gates to anticipate risk and provide actionable recommendations
As the senior customer contact, youll maintain transparency on critical path and supply chain risk as well as scope creep
You will apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions
Promoting behaviours and decision-making aligned with the companys vision and values youll also champion a culture of learning and continuous professional development
Youll provide clear leadership, communication, and direction to multidisciplinary teams internally and externally driving business transformation, managing change, and supporting business continuity and resilience planning
What are we looking for?
Experience managing high-value (£10m+) projects a Ship Building / Senior Vessel Engineering / Heavy Fabrication / Heavy Modular Construction from inception to completion where variable critical path intensities occur, creating intermittent spikes of intense, time sensitive activity
Strong commercial, operational, and financial awareness with the ability to see the wider picture
Understanding of the impact of decisions including use of Earned Value Management / Budgeted cost of work performed to manage early warning signs, forecasting, decision making
Experience of MoD single sourcing contracting and requirements
An understating of the complexities of operating within a supply chain to meet MoD standards eg DEF STANs & security clearance
Qualification in Project Management, APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent with Cost Management Accounting and Estimating capability
The ability to lead, influence and inspire cross-functional teams with conflicting priorities understanding risk management and business continuity
An exceptional communicator with fine-tuned interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of tackling performance and operational challenges effectively
